What sparked this new collection?
Well, I’m glad that you asked. I have had the wonderful
opportunity to travel the world as an elite fitness expert,
exercise video star and TV personality!
I have seen workout fashions come and go and have worn so
many different brands of workout wear on TV, magazine shoots,
and exercise videos that I’ve never been completely happy
with. The styles, fit, colors and comfort of the workout wear
just never seemed to work with me and give me the movement and
feel that I wanted and needed.
For the last 5 years I have played around with different workout
pieces that I have collected from around the world. I made changes here and there to fit my needs.
That is when I started getting phone calls, letters and
emails from eager customers who exercise to my videos and wanted
to know where they could buy the outfits I was wearing!
My own exercise apparel line? What a concept!
Since I had attended college at Midway College in
Kentucky, on an art scholarship and majored in Fashion
Merchandising & Design, I thought why not combine my two loves
and give my clients what they had been asking for.
That is how Couture Active Wear was born!
My first designs were baby tee's and then sweatshirts.
Kickbox pants came next and so did the sales!
I had no idea what I had started!
Since then I have focused all my attention on what I really like in
workout wear. I have designed the Couture Active Wear line with women
in mind. Combining style, color, comfort and function for any
woman wanting to workout while enjoying what she is wearing by
feeling confidant that her exercise apparel will perform as she
does. Women want to look feminine, stylish & feel sexy at
the gym, out for lunch, shopping or out on town for that spicy
nightcap.
I have chosen only the very best active wear fabrics including
Dupont Supplex, Dupont Designer Lycra, Tactel, Spa French Terry &
Couture Cotton, colors and details for each piece.
Each style has been chosen carefully with special
attention to detail and fit.
The Couture Active Wear Collection is for all shapes and
sizes. That is what so wonderful about the Dupont Supplex Fabric.
Supplex® with Lycra® is a fusion of softness and stretch — with Lycra®
stretching up to 500%, and then springing back to its original
shape.
My Collection is soft and has a hugging fit!
Supplex® unlike cotton, won't wrinkle, shrink or fade.
My customers love this feature, because of their travel
schedule; it is easily packed and has great comfort on planes.
Couture Active Wear stays new looking longer, so the collection will
hold its great shape and vibrant color — And they will never
fuzz or pill.
DuPont certified Supplex® is also as strong as it is soft—resisting
abrasions, punctures and tears. It's also breathable and odor-,
wind- and water-resistant. When Supplex® does get wet, it dries
in a flash—drying faster than cotton by a whopping 56 minutes,
which is important for my clienteles busy schedule.
